Cancellation Policy

Please be mindful that your appointment slot is assigned to you and may not be filled by other clients due to short notice. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you inform us 24 hours before your appointment. If you miss a session without cancelling, or cancel on the day of your appointment, you will be required to pay for the session in full (unless both parties agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control).

It is important to note that insurance companies do not provide reimbursements for cancelled sessions; therefore you will be responsible for the cost of the session. In addition, you are responsible for coming to your session on time. If you are late, your appointment will still need to end on time.

Private Health Insurance

Clients with ancillary private health insurance can claim a portion of their fee back. To find out how much you are entitled to receive, please contact your insurance provider. The item codes are listed in the fees and charges table above. Please note that fees need to be paid in full on the day of your service. You will then receive a receipt via email to allow you to claim from your health fund.

Medicare

Some children are also eligible for annual Medicare rebates. You can receive up to five sessions through Medicare if you are eligible (please contact your GP to discuss eligibility). Please note that there will be an out-of pocket expense for services provided by Chatterbox.

Funding for children with disabilities

Children with autism aged 0-7 years are eligible to use up to $12,000 for speech pathology and other authorised services (conditions apply). More information is available on the Department Of Social Services website. You can also enquire about eligibility via an Autism Advisor by calling (08) 9489 8900.

Children who are not eligible for the Helping Children with Autism Package funding may still be able to access Medicare rebates for up to 20 speech pathology session per child in total. You will require a referral from your paediatrician.

Children with other disabilities may be eligible for early intervention services through Better Start funding. Please see the fact sheet for more information.

Government funding using the Helping Children with Autism package or Better Start can be accessed through Chatterbox’s affiliation with Friends of Autism (FOA). For more information, please visit their website.
